Understanding & Caring for Sensitive Skin

Sensitive skin is a condition characterised by a heightened reactivity to certain products or environmental factors. People with sensitive skin may experience redness, itching, dryness, and other uncomfortable symptoms when exposed to irritants or allergens.

If you have sensitive skin, it's important to use skincare products that are gentle, non-irritating, and free of harsh chemicals and fragrances.

Korean skincare ideologies focus on gentle, natural ingredients that are safe for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Korean skincare products often incorporate ingredients like green tea, ginseng, and snail mucin, which are known for their soothing and hydrating properties.

Skin Sensitivity Tips

Choosing Ingredients

For those with sensitive it is often best to avoid ingredients that are known to be harsh or irritating, such as sulphites and synthetic fragrances

Patch Testing

We recommend patch testing new products before using them all over your face, especially if using active ingredients such as retinol, niacinamide, salicylic acid etc. (sometimes it is best to start with applying these products every other day to allow your skin to get used to it)

Cleansing | Moisturising habits

Use lukewarm water and be gentle when cleansing,

Moisturise regularly to keep your skin well-hydrated and less prone to irritation- look for hydrating ingredients such as beta-glucan, Hyaluronic Acid & Ceramides
